(Caregivers touched by Alzheimer’s Share their Stories)
September 17th | 7:00 PM
Seventy thousand people in BC are affected by dementia. That means at least 70,000 caregivers are struggling every day to make life meaningful for their loved ones and keep their own balance during challenging times. That’s a lot of stories!
On Monday, September 17th, in the lead up to World Alzheimer’s Day, two Island authors will get the conversation started by reading from books about living strong in spite of dementia. Then you'll have the chance to share your own story and talk with these inspirational women.
Marjorie Moulton, who leads We Rage We Weep Alzheimer Foundation, which is dedicated to helping caregivers not just survive, but thrive through this life-altering journey, will share some of her mother’s experiences caring for her spouse with Alzheimer’s in the wilds of central BC. Janet Dunnett, author of a book about a daughter’s caregiving journey through dementia, will also read from her memoir, called The Dwindling.
Everyone is welcome. This is an evening for caregivers to share experiences of struggle and strength, and perhaps feel less isolated in the face of a disease that can steal hope.
For further information call Janet Dunnett 1-250-7527160 or email
